A while ago I bought my self the "outside" calipers from Lee Valley. They're about twice the price of the Canuck Tire product. But they let you reach 4 inches into a top or back plate which is a real bonus. http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.a ... 3513,43550 |

Alex Try to get yourself a 12" set from someplace like Busy Bee. You will find them invaluable. Bob |

I picked up a few of these last time they were on sale. They seem to work well. And the great thing is that if you miss this sale just wait. They'll be on sale again in a few months. |

These generic 6" calipers (they are all made in the same factory) are widely available on Ebay for a couple of dollars less than the price that Canadian Tire are asking (and that price includes shipping) ... leastways they are in the UK ... I would think they would also be available in Canada. |

Good timing for this thread. |

Yes, within a couple of dollars, even with the exchange, but free shipping from China usually means 3-4 weeks delivery time, and no warranty. The Cnd. Tire calipers carry their' brand name of MasterCraft, and have a 3yr warranty. Plus I can support a Canadian company! Alex |

I've been buying them for years, I probably have nearly a dozen sets scattered around. A bit hard on batteries but otherwise reliable. I always keep lots of extra batteries around. Shane |

Not too many electronics made elsewhere. Luckily, they haven't started to make maple syrup, yet! ![]() Alex |

So I went down to Canuk Tire to pick me up one of these - no way they would sell it to me for $16.99. The system price was $14.99. That would be $CAD. (About five bucks USD) I bought 2 ![]() |
